Friends and Partners,
During this challenging time, we have remained committed to communicating with you and being transparent about our response to the fast-moving updates we receive from experts, from the government, and from our stores, partners, and each other.
The health and well-being of our employees and customers is our top priority and we have been working hard, through guidance from experts, to anticipate all potential scenarios so we can plan for them where we can and continue to be of support to our communities as an essential business.
On May 7, 2020, we learned that one of our Dash In store employees at our 7505 Old Branch Avenue Clinton, MD 20735 location tested positive for COVID-19. We felt it was important to share this news with you as this is our first known positive case at Dash In of which we are aware.
As soon as we learned of this, we activated our store preparedness protocols. We immediately closed the store, contacted the Prince George’s County Health Department and the Maryland Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and initiated a third-party company to perform a deep cleaning. We have been working in close coordination with the health department, following their and the Maryland CDC’s guidance related to cleaning and sanitization. We have also communicated directly with individuals known to have been in close contact with this employee. After instruction from the Prince George’s County Health Department, we look forward to reopening this location to once again serve our customers and our communities.
We have been in continued contact with the affected employee as they quarantine at home and are doing all we can to support them while respecting their privacy. All employees on schedule at this location will be compensated for their time off due to the temporary store closure.
We want to assure you that we are taking every possible precaution to minimize further cases and to protect the health and safety of our employees, customers, and families. We have increased the frequency and depth of our cleaning to include sanitization of high-touch areas, as well as banned reusable cups and closed all seating areas. Moving forward, we will continue to follow our safety protocols and take precautionary measures through expert guidance.
This is a tough climate for all of us and it changes every day. We commit to dedicating our efforts towards ensuring our team members, customers, and local communities not only feel safe, but also feel supported no matter how uncertain this current journey may seem.
Sincerely,
Blackie Wills, President, Dash In
